Water Filtration for Sandy Springs Homes, From the Main to the Glass

Your water leaves the treatment plant clean. Then it travels miles of pipe, some of it old, through main breaks and repairs, into your home's own plumbing. That last stretch is where we work.

What changes between the plant and your tap

The utility tests at the plant and across the system. Nobody tests your kitchen faucet but you. Here is what can happen on the way.

At the treatment plant

  • River water is filtered and disinfected
  • Chlorine is added to protect it in the pipes
  • Quality is tested and reported

By the time it reaches you

  • Chlorine taste and smell remain
  • Main breaks and repairs can stir up sediment
  • Older service lines and fixtures can add rust or metals
  • Water sits overnight in your home's pipes

None of this means your water is unsafe. It means the plant's test is not the same as a test at your tap.

Why Sandy Springs families call us

Safety is the job. Selling equipment is not.

  • We know north metro water

Most of Sandy Springs drinks treated Chattahoochee River water. It is naturally soft, so the issues here are chlorine taste, sediment and older plumbing, not scale. We plan for that.

  • We test what matters

Chlorine, sediment, pH and, where the house is older, lead from plumbing through a certified lab. You see every result in writing.

  • We recommend the minimum

If a kitchen filter solves it, that is the quote. Whole-home systems only when your readings and your household call for one.

  • We use certified equipment

Every filter and membrane we install is certified to the NSF/ANSI standard for the reduction it claims. We name the standard on your quote.

  • We stay reachable

Questions after a boil-water notice, a strange taste or a filter change? Call (404) 882-1575 and talk to the people who installed your system.

Three steps to water you trust

Most homes go from first call to installed system within a week.

  1. Test

A specialist checks chlorine, sediment, pH, hardness and TDS at your kitchen tap. In older homes we offer a certified lab test for lead. About thirty minutes.

  2. Recommend

You get the smallest system that answers your results, in writing, with one price. If nothing needs fixing, we tell you.

  3. Install and verify

Most installs take one to three hours. We retest at the tap afterwards and leave a written filter schedule.

Questions from Sandy Springs homeowners

Straight answers. Anything else, call (404) 882-1575.

Where does Sandy Springs water come from?

Most of Sandy Springs is served by the City of Atlanta's water system, which draws from the Chattahoochee River and treats it before it enters the pipes. Your utility publishes an annual water quality report. We test what actually reaches your tap.

Is Sandy Springs water hard?

Usually not. Water drawn from the Chattahoochee tends to be soft, so a softener is rarely needed here. If someone recommends one without testing your hardness first, ask why.

Why does my water taste like chlorine?

Utilities add chlorine to keep water safe on its long trip through the pipes. The taste and smell are common, especially in summer. A carbon filter removes it at the kitchen sink or for the whole house.

Should I filter my water after a boil-water notice?

Follow the notice first; a home filter is not a substitute for official guidance. Afterwards, many households notice sediment or discoloration as the system recovers. A sediment filter and a good drinking-water system help with what comes through once normal service returns.

Could my older home have lead in its plumbing?

Homes built before 1986 can have lead solder or fixtures. The only way to know is a certified lab test. We arrange it, explain the results and, if needed, recommend a filter certified for lead reduction.

What does reverse osmosis remove?

RO removes most dissolved solids and many contaminants, including lead and certain PFAS compounds when the system is certified for them. It is a drinking-water solution at one tap, not a whole-house one.

Do I need a whole-house system?

Not always. If your concern is drinking water, a kitchen system is enough. If chlorine in the shower bothers you or you want sediment protection for appliances, whole-home filtration makes sense. Your test results decide.

How long does installation take?

Under-sink systems take about one to two hours. Whole-house filters take two to three. You have water back on before we leave.

Do you service systems you did not install?

Yes. We change filters, replace membranes and repair most major brands, and we will tell you plainly if a system is past saving.

How often do filters need changing?

Sediment cartridges every three to six months, carbon every six to twelve, RO membranes every two to three years. We leave the exact schedule for your system in writing.

Living with north metro water

Atlanta-area water is treated to federal standards and tested constantly. The questions we get in Sandy Springs are about the last stretch: the chlorine taste in iced tea, the sediment that shows up after a main break, the rust-tinged water from an older home's pipes, the private well out in Milton that stains the tub.

Each one has a specific fix, and most of them are smaller than people expect. We test, we explain what the numbers mean, and we install only what your water calls for. If the answer is nothing, we say so.

That approach matters most in a soft-water area like this one. Without a test, it is easy to be sold equipment designed for problems your home does not have. With one, you can spend on the things that actually improve what comes out of your tap, and skip the rest with confidence.

After a boil-water notice

Boil-water notices happen across the Atlanta area, usually after a main break or a drop in pressure. The first rule is simple: follow the notice until the utility lifts it. A home filter is not a substitute for official guidance.

Afterwards, many households notice cloudy or discolored water, sediment in aerators, or a stronger chlorine taste as the system recovers. Run the cold taps until the water clears. If you have filters, many manufacturers recommend changing them after a notice. If the water still looks or tastes off after a day or two, call us and we will test it.

If notices make you uneasy, a certified drinking-water system at the kitchen sink and a sediment filter at the main add a layer of confidence for everyday use. We will explain exactly what each one does, and what it does not, before you decide.
