UV Water Purification
UV Water Purification in Sandy Springs
UV disinfection for private wells in Milton, north Alpharetta and the surrounding area.
Where UV belongs
UV water purification near Sandy Springs is mostly for private wells. City water arrives disinfected. Well water in Milton and north Fulton does not, and it is the owner's responsibility.
A UV chamber inactivates bacteria, viruses and protozoa with ultraviolet light. Nothing is added to the water. The catch: the light has to reach every microbe, so sediment, iron and hardness must be removed first.
We test the well, install the right pre-treatment, then size the UV chamber to your pump's peak flow.
On city water, UV is usually unnecessary. We will tell you so.
For homes with a cistern or storage tank, UV also makes sense as a final safeguard. We will tell you whether yours qualifies.

Good to know
- Does UV change the taste?
- No. It adds nothing to the water.
- How often is the lamp replaced?
- About once a year.
- Do I need UV on city water?
- Usually not. We will tell you if your case is an exception.
- What if the power goes out?
- UV stops working without power. We explain how to flush and, if needed, disinfect the lines when power returns, and the alarm tells you if the lamp is off.
- Does UV remove iron or sediment?
- No. Those need their own treatment ahead of the lamp, which is why we test first.
UV and north Fulton wells
Wells in Milton and north Alpharetta are usually drilled into rock, and many produce good water. But bacteria can appear after heavy rain, flooding, well work or a damaged well cap, and testing once a year is the only way to know. When a test finds bacteria, the first step is usually shock chlorination and fixing the cause. UV then provides continuous protection afterwards.
We install UV as the final stage, after sediment and iron treatment, and we size it to your pump. Every system includes an alarm and a reminder for the annual lamp change, because a UV lamp that has quietly faded gives a false sense of security. Records of each lamp change are kept with your system file.
