Whole-House Water Filtration
Whole-House Water Filtration in Sandy Springs
Point-of-entry filtration for homes along Roswell Road, Riverside Drive and the Perimeter.
Why whole-house filtration works well here
Whole-house water filtration in Sandy Springs does two jobs at once. It removes the chlorine your utility adds, so showers and laundry lose the pool smell. And it catches sediment before it reaches faucets, water heaters and appliances.
Sediment matters more here than many people expect. Main breaks and repairs in the Atlanta system can send grit and discoloration through the lines for a while. A sediment stage ahead of the carbon protects the carbon and everything downstream.
Because Chattahoochee water is usually soft, most homes here do not need a softener alongside it. We test hardness anyway, and tell you the result.
Installs usually happen in the garage, basement or crawlspace near the main shutoff and take two to three hours.

Good to know
- Will it remove lead?
- Standard whole-house carbon is not designed for lead. If lead is a concern, a certified drinking-water system at the kitchen sink is the right tool.
- Do I need a softener too?
- Usually not in Sandy Springs. Atlanta-area water is generally soft. We test hardness and tell you.
- What about after a boil-water notice?
- Follow the notice. Afterwards, the sediment stage catches much of the grit that comes through as service recovers.
- How long do the filters last?
- Sediment cartridges usually last three to six months and carbon media lasts much longer, depending on your household's use and the chlorine level. We estimate both for your home and write the dates down.
- Will it lower my water pressure?
- Not noticeably when it is sized correctly. We size by your bathrooms and fixtures and fit gauges so you can see when a cartridge starts to load up.
Whole-house filtration in north metro homes
Homes in Sandy Springs range from 1950s ranches near Roswell Road to new builds around City Springs, and the plumbing varies just as much. Older houses often have longer service lines and a mix of galvanized and copper pipe, which is where sediment and rust show up. Newer homes usually have PEX and a cleaner start, so the main reason to filter is chlorine.
We look at where the main enters, how much space there is in the garage, basement or crawlspace, and whether a drain is nearby. In homes with two water heaters or large irrigation systems, we route the system so the irrigation stays on unfiltered water and the house gets the treatment. That keeps cartridges lasting longer and the running cost down. If the space is tight, a slimmer two-housing design often fits where a tank will not.
